Douglass M. Bailey
The Rev. Dr. Douglass Bailey is an Episcopal priest specializing in Urban Ministry. Before becoming an Associate Professor of Urban Ministry at the Divinity School at Wake Forest University, Rev. Bailey served as Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis, Tennessee, for 23 years. Rev. Bailey founded or co-founded such wide-ranging and vital ministries in Memphis as the Street Ministry for the homeless, the Samaritan Counseling Center, and Teen Job Services employment program. He has also been awarded a Doctor of Divinity by Rhodes College of Memphis for outstanding servant ministry to parish, city and world and earned a "Peacemaker and Community Service" honor from the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center. Bailey is also the President of the Center for Urban Ministry at Wake Forest Divinity School.
